Oh, baby, it’s Fri-yay! We all know what that means! Weekend time’s upon us once again. My weekend plans are to go to the farmer’s market, now that it’s officially back on. The last two weekends, it was a plant sale, where I got some pepper plants and a tomato plant. They’re now residing in the planter I fashioned out of an old kitchen sink, and seem to be coming along famously. I’m so looking forward to seeing old faces back in action. There’s some old-timers from the neighborhood who moved to a different part of town early last spring, and they come back every weekend for the farmer’s market. There’s a food fair going on in another part of the neighborhood, and that’s on my radar. Otherwise, it’s serving out my life sentence of a job search.
How bout you? What are your weekend plans? Lemme guess, trips to Martha’s Vineyard and Disney World? Yes? OMG, can I be there in spirit? No? Bummer. It was a nice idea, but still, I’d love to hear all about your weekend plans. Drop em like they’re hot below, and let’s get the party started up in here.
To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.
Made some chili oil recently w/ some dried Thai chilies, but this recipe’s more elaborate than what I made.
I’d also love to try this recipe for Haitian spaghetti sometime.
I got a ton of popcorn knocking around the house, and I think I’ll be making some popcorn balls. This variation seems pretty cool too.
Saw an episode on Dabl of Jamie’s 15 minute meals, and this recipe was on it. It’s how I came across this take on Sienna Miller’s favorite duck ragu.
You Gotta Eat Here, which also airs on Dabl, is also how I learned about Saturday Dinette, and there was a recipe for mac and cheese that used coconut milk. I recently made my own take on it, and loved it. I’d also love to try this recipe for buckwheat pancakes. Sad to say the Saturday Dinette has since closed.
Love this cookware! It’s on my list along w/ Great Jones stuff.
Great piece about women in country music, and so happy to see Rissi Palmer made the list.
Rest in peace, Lt. Col. Lucky. Save us some seats?
Sick. Just sick. I wonder how many job seekers unlucky enough to cross paths w/ this little jerk suffered needlessly b/c of his idiotic prejudices?

Last but not least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 15-year-old Terryonna Bright, of Kalamazoo, MI was on June 2nd, 2022. According to the poster, she is likely still in town, and may be with a boy her age. If you see a child matching Terryonna’s description, make that call. Let’s get her home safe to the ones who love her!
