The Weekend Docket

A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

Hey, everyone, it’s Fri-yay! That means one thing: weekend time’s upon us once again. What’re your weekend plans? Me, I got done w/ the last day of training for my seasonal job today, and I decided to step out and take advantage of the decent weather we had in my neck of the woods. It was pretty breezy, but not enough to go fly my kite. Depending on how I’m feeling, my weekend plans are either to lay low and see if I can pick up some extra hours w/ the seasonal job, or go knocking around the neighborhood.

I’ve been sick since the day before school let out for the Thanksgiving break, when I took on my first assignment. It’s like every time I set foot inside a school, I get sick. When I volunteered back in college at the school I was assigned to, I ended up sick constantly, and it never once got any better. This time around, it’s even worse. I started feeling sick halfway through the day, and it ramped up from there during the holiday break. Thanksgiving night (and every night thereafter, tbh), I woke up hacking my guts out, and everything tasted like ass to me.

Yeah, I’ve probably lost some more weight as a result. I’m not super upset over it, but sheesh, what a horrible way to lose weight.

I still got some masks left over when I swiped the box that was in my mom’s hospital room during one of her increasingly large amount of hospital stays in the last few years of her life, and that one was before the pandemic started. I’ll be wearing a mask from now on whenever I’m in the schools.

How bout you, readers? What’re your weekend plans? I’d love to hear all about it, so drop em all like they’re hot, and let’s get the party started.

To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.

I’d love to try this rice stuffing recipe sometime.

A swimming dinosaur’s been found in Mongolia.

Fun road signs are apparently no more in New Jersey.

Small towns to visit sometime.

We lost Jake Flint recently, and it was just after his wedding. Rest in peace, Jake!

We also lost Irene Cara, too. This came as a huge shock to me, and it’s so sad. They haven’t gone public w/ a cause of death yet, but we’ll find out soon. Rest in peace, Irene!

I never heard of Cocaine Bear before, and had no idea what one of my frens on LinkedIn was talking about. Until now.

The Country Radio Hall of Fame. Had no idea this was a thing!

A master list of gift guides. Love this idea!

Came across Grove Collaborative a few years back, and always wanted to try it out, but alas, didn’t have a job that paid worth a damn at the time.

Last but not least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 7-year-old Athena Strand of Paradise, TX was on November 30th, 2022. The flyer shows the most recent pics of Athena. According to the flyer, she had on a long-sleeved gray shirt w/ white flowers, jeans w/ white flowers on the pockets, and brown boots. If you have any knowledge of Athena’s whereabouts after November 30th, or see a child matching Athena’s description, make that call. Let’s get Athena back home to those who love her, pronto!
