Oh, bb, it’s Fri-yay! That can only mean one thing: weekend time’s upon us once again, so it’s time to talk weekend plans. Mine are gonna go one of two ways: a trip to some old stomping grounds from several years ago, or a trip to the mall, depending on the weather. If nothing else, I may just knock around the neighborhood and go hit up the store going outta business if it’s still open.
Fun fact: I actually applied for a job there a year ago. I never heard back from em, and unfortunately, now I see why. I was never gonna hear back, so bullet dodged, I guess.
I was also thinking about taking another attempt at a sewing project that was nothing but a disaster from the get-go. It brings up some really awful memories and difficult feelings, and it’s caused me nothing but misery the whole time. I haven’t cared about it in the 2 years it’s been since I started it. At this point, I probably won’t ever start caring about it, so it’ll be a nope on that front.
Off to the textile recycling bag it goes.
I’ll definitely catch some the Law and Order SVU marathon on ION, and maybe watch something on Tubi or whatever other free app I got on my Roku.
Over to you, readers. What’re your weekend plans? I’d love to hear all about it, so drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get the party started!
To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.
I’d love to try my hand at making some matar paneer. There’s the canned version that I used to be able to find locally years back, but now I can’t seem to find it anywhere for the life of me. At least not in the places I’ve looked so far. Seriously, that stuff was my favorite. True story: before I lost the weight, I could easily eat 2 cans of it in one go.
I may also meal-prep some curried chickpeas this weekend, too. I got some coconut milk in the pantry that’s been living there long enough, and now I know what I’m gonna do w/ it.
Peach fuzz is the 2024 Pantone color of the year, and here’s some ways to add it to home decor.
A list of decorating trends to move on from for 2024, w/ checkerboard patterns being among em. There’s a coat at Dillards w/ a checkerboard pattern that I like, but beyond that, I never cared much for it any way else.
A tomato lost in space has now been found, and here’s the story behind it.
In other news, we lost Ryan O’Neal. Rest in peace.
[Note: this link contains mention of FGM, CSA, and other abuses.] The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is underway, and this post out of Nigeria talks about the Chieftain of the APC’s efforts to put a stop to gender-based violence and abuse.
Last, but never least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 12-year-old Jeremiah Montgomery of Las Vegas, NV, was on October 7th, 2023. According to the listing, he may still be in Las Vegas, or he may be in Henderson. The AMBER Alert for Keshaun Williams is still ongoing. If you have any knowledge of Keshaun’s whereabouts after June 24th, 2023, then make that call. Let’s see what we can do to get both Keshaun and Jeremiah home safe to those who love em in time for the remainder of the holiday season, ASAP!
