Fall Equinox 2025 | The Mission Within
Image of sketch renderings of trees with yellow, brown, and orange leaves to depict the fall season, with leaves on the ground surrounding the trees. Sketch rendering of two pumpkins under the tree on the left, and next to it is a little wiener dog with a leaf in his mouth. In the middle is a sketch rendering of a light colored squirrel holding a leaf, and on the right is a brown colored squirrel holding an acorn. The tree on the right has a red wheelbarrow under it. Text reads "Fall Equinox 2025." Happy fall, y'all!

I can’t believe it, but today’s Fall Equinox 2025! Yesterday was the last day of summer, and also the last day of the Cubs season. For some reason, I thought they had an away game after this, but after having checked the schedule, yesterday was indeed the last day of the season. It’s also the last day of the last summer of my 30s. I don’t feel that old, tbh. Maybe that’s a good thing. I know for sure I want it to stay this way as long as possible, though.

I had plans to knock out some yard work, but I’d come to the end of the spool of plastic for the weed eater. Guess that wasn’t gonna happen today. No worries, though. I’ll just get the bus over to the hardware store I got it from at some point this week, since they have the stuff specific to the brand I got.

After my meal-prep and my shower, I went to my room and watched whatever was on network TV and played some Township. I’ve been playing that game for years, as I’ve said here. I still can’t believe that post is now 5 years old, so that means I’ve now been playing Township for a decade. Time flies, doesn’t it? Of course, I had to make some pit stops at Manor Matters, Fishdom, Farmscapes, and Homescapes, too.

After the summer solstice, it wasn’t long before I started to need the flashlight for my walk home from the bus stop on the days I also have my second job. On that note, I decided I’d better make the most of the opportunity to watch the sun set from my bedroom window, cuz it’ll get darker earlier, and I won’t have as many chances to do so, now that winter’s coming to the scene.

It’s the first day of Fall 2025 here in the northern hemisphere. For those of y’all in the southern hemisphere, it’s Spring 2025. Here in the States, many locales have Daylight Saving Time, including my neck of the woods. That ends in early November, so by the time I get home from my day job, the sun will probably be setting already later on in the season.

Today was in the 80s, but it was chilly this morning on the walk. I have a step count to meet, and more re-gained weight left to lose. Stuff that hadn’t fit me in quite some time is starting to fit once again, so there’s only one thing left to do: keep it moving and do the damn thing. I gotta stay the course. I can do this. I did it before, which tells me I can do it again.

This fall, I’m hoping to go back to some old stomping grounds I used to love years back. This has been a rough season for me historically, and I hope I can break the curse. I’m also hoping to make it to the zoo before the end of the season. I’d also like to go on a hayride, and maybe an apple orchard, but if that doesn’t happen, that’s cool w/ me.

I also have plans to make more stuff, and have it be part of a future post series. I just need to work on getting everything I made over the summer, and get it all in one place for more than 10 seconds, haha.

Anyways, over to you, readers. How are you celebrating the fall equinox? What’s your favorite thing to do in the fall? I’d love to hear your thoughts and takeaways, so drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s talk.
