The Weekend Docket

A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

Happy Fri-yay, everyone! We all know what that means: weekend time’s upon us once again, and so it’s time to talk weekend plans. My weekend plans include a trip to the farmer’s market, and maybe I’ll revisit some old stomping grounds I haven’t been to since before the pandemic. I may also go over to JoAnn and check out some stuff I saw online, and hopefully be able to see IRL.

I’m also considering going to an event at a restaurant I visited a long time ago, and see what’s new there. I haven’t had the chance to stop in there, and when I did, they were closed.

Anyways, ’nuff about me. How bout you, readers? What’re your weekend plans? Good, bad, both, or neither, I’d still love to hear all about it, so drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get this party started!

To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.

I’d love to try this recipe for Cool Whip candy sometime.

Ways to use up those super tiny soap bars after they’ve shrunk w/ usage. I guess now I’ll be having Caress-scented hand soap in my reusable pump in the bathroom.

The story of the Stanley cup, according to this post. I’ve only got one Stanley cup, and while I think I may get another one to rotate among, I’m happy w/ the one I got.

What to know about scrapbooking and safeguarding valuable photos and ephemera. I picked up a couple spiral-bound scrapbooks a few weekends back from Michaels, and I got plans for one of em.

On that note, I’ve seen a lot over the years about archival mist, and apparently, this is something you can make on your own. Good, cuz that bookkeeper spray’s so far outta my price range that it’s not even in the same area code. When I was in high school, I saw something about scrapbooking in an issue of Seventeen, and it mentioned Wei T’o, which nobody in my area sold. We probably couldn’t have afforded it anyways, so it was moot. I’ll have to try the DIY version out w/ stupid stuff nobody cares about, so this way, if it’s ruined, I won’t be super upset over it.

Sad news in the world of country music. We lost Kris Kristofferson last Saturday, and he was 88 years old. Job well done, now rest in peace.

I hate to even include this, but this link contains mention of abuse and non-consent. This post talks about a lawsuit from a former makeup artist to Garth Brooks, alleging heinous crimes he’s committed against her in 2017-2019. Bruh. This is disgusting on so many levels. Whoever the former makeup artist is, I’m so sorry this happened to you, and so sorry he did you so dirty. I believe you, and I stand w/ you. Aaand, I know what I’ll be doing w/ my album collection this weekend.

Last, but never least, a signal boost for some missing kids. The last confirmed sighting of 14-year-old Zyrihanna Williams of Newport News, VA was on October 3rd, 2024. She had on a blue/green shirt and jean shorts. She was last seen getting into a gray SUV. No other information is listed in the poster beyond this.

There is also an active AMBER Alert for 16-year-old Zoe Rowbotham of Hurst, TX. She was last seen on September 29th, 2024, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and white shoes. She was at the corner of Bluebonnet and Arwine Drive, and may be traveling on foot, for those who are familiar w/ the area.

Even though it’s a sad statement to have to talk about, the odds of a child returning home safe diminish the longer they’re missing. However, it’s important to remember that this is just the overall trend, and that there are always outliers. There is always hope. This is why I’m highlighting a long-term missing case. This time, we’re talking about Sharon Bald Eagle of Eagle Butte, SD. The last confirmed sighting of Sharon was on September 18th, 1984. Sharon and her friend Sandi, a 15-year-old girl, ran away from a boarding school that has since closed, and were hitchhiking in Casper, WY. This site says that Sharon was 12 at the time of her disappearance. Sharon and Sandi hitched a ride w/ a former trucker, who assaulted the girls. Sandi got away and called police, but by the time they got there, she was gone, along w/ their attacker. Their attacker died in prison in 1993, and never changed his story about where Sharon could be. This year, Sharon turns 52 years old, and her dad deserves real answers instead of false hope.

If you have any knowledge as to the whereabouts of Zyrhianna after October 3rd, of Zoe after September 29th, or of Sharon after September 18th 1984, I encourage you to make that call. Let’s get these girls home safe to those who love em, pronto!
