The weekend docket

A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

OMFG, is it Friday already? Or is someone playing the dumbest April Fool’s joke in existence? In any case, this week has been tiring for me. It’s like it was all I could do just to get out of bed this week, and I’ve come down with something on top of it. Don’t worry, readers, it’s not COVID. I promise! That being said, I can’t believe this week is over, and today’s the day my favorite show on a local radio station airs.

My plans this weekend are to hit up Target again for this lamp I’ve been considering for awhile. The lamp I made back in middle school’s probably no longer safe to use, since it flickers in and out. At first I thought it was the wiring in the house, which has happened before, but not this time. I’m considering this a sign that it’s time to retire that lamp and put it in my trunk, and time to upgrade to something better. I also wanna go by the music store at some point while the weather’s holding out. Later this weekend, we’re due for some winter weather, but hopefully it’s been warm enough it won’t last.

As a reminder, this weekend is when Daylight Savings Time starts. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, spring forward, and for those in the Southern Hemisphere, fall forward. In other words, set your clocks one hour ahead if they don’t automatically do so.

Over to you, readers. What are your weekend plans? Drop ’em like they’re hot below, and let’s talk.

To ring in the weekend, I’ve got some links to talk about in the comments below. Share ’em with your friends and family, what have you.

Great post about how emotional intelligence and niceness aren’t one and the same.

Is anyone else here on track to move soon? This post has some great ideas to keep things organized when the time comes.

What a fascinating blog about the types of pasta! I went down this rabbit hole while bouncing around ideas for an assignment from my day job that took longer than expected.

Heads-up, there’s mention of abuse within the workplace, so if you need to give this one a miss, do so. It’s a very informative post about the signs of an abusive work environment. This hits very close to home for me, and I hope that you’re able to find a way out of it if you’re ever in a situation like this. I see you, and my heart goes out to you.

On a more positive note, this recipe for sticky rice stuffing looks like so much fun to make, regardless of the season. I picked up some bacon the other day since I had an Ibotta deal for it, now I just gotta get my hands on some sticky rice. Maybe I’ll hold off on that until after the move, and use the bacon for lettuce wrap sandwiches instead, haha.

Speaking of which, this recipe for hot mustard would be great as a make-ahead, or in the moment when you only need a bit of it and don’t wanna be stuck with buttloads of it.

While we’re on the subject of make-aheads, I haven’t had these in a long time. I’ve made it into a dip to tide me over, though. Maybe I’ll make ’em on the grill when we get into some decent weather after the move.

Last, this post about the first hotel in space is so cool! It looks like something out of a movie I saw on Comet one time, haha.

    1. No worries at all. It’s a topic that really needs to be talked about more often, regardless of industry. More importantly, thanks for taking the time to stop by with your vote of appreciation for my site!
