Hey, what’s good, everyone? It’s Friday, and that means another weekend’s upon us. What are your weekend plans? Me, I’m gonna go hit up the mall and do some window shopping to celebrate my new job! I literally just got the offer on Monday after the second round of interviews, and I start next week. That’s right. My life sentence has just been commuted.
I never thought I’d ever live to see the day anyone would ever hire me on a bet. I will now be salvaging what’s left of this year, and devoting it to forgetting any of those nasty hiring managers ever existed. They’re on my shyt list, along with everyone else involved. Back to my weekend plans. I think I may also go over to the record shop and see what’s new there. I had Jeff Carson’s first album, but I can’t find it. Either I’ve misplaced it, or I probably left it behind in a move years ago. Either way, I think I’ll go over there and see if there’s any copies of it.
I’m also gonna go through the boxes in the basement, and see what I can either sell, donate, throw out, repurpose, or leave on the curb as a freebie for whoever to come and grab. Some of this stuff shoulda gone years ago, but live and learn, I guess.
Over to you, readers. What are your weekend plans? I hope they’re good ones, and if they’re not, then I want you to know that I see you, and I’m supporting you. I hope the tide of life turns in your favor soon. Either way, I’d love to hear all about your plans, so drop ’em all like they’re hot below, and let’s get the party started!
To ring in the weekend, I’ve got us a list of links from around the ‘net for us to talk about, share, what have you.
This looks like a fun side dish to make, and same with these crispy sesame tofu pieces.
Why “innocent until proven guilty” should have always applied to EVERYONE, not just a select group.
Great piece about a former rugby player who struggled with a whole slew of shyt, and hopes to get back into the game again soon.
This post about reasons a lot of people hate their birthdays hits close to home. I’m one of them. My birthday last year was complete dogshyt, so how can this year be any different?
This post about ways neurodiversity can be colonized really makes ya think. I’m looking forward to the next post in the series!
Speaking of which, here’s how to communicate with neurodivergent people.
In the market for a photographer? Hit them up!
Love this piece about Merrill Pittman Cooper’s high school graduation at the age of 101. Since his mother couldn’t afford the tuition, he ended up dropping out of school during his junior year in the 1930s. He went back and completed his degree, and I’m so proud of him!
The 9/11 Memorial finally has a pic of cafeteria worker Albert Ogletree, who was one of the hundreds of ppl trapped in the North Tower. Rest in piece, Albert!
Does anyone here remember Jeff Carson? He had a few hits back in the 1990s, and I remember hearing them on the radio in elementary school. Anyways, he left the music industry to become a police officer, and got back into country music in the past couple years. Sad to report that he died last weekend of a heart attack. Rest in peace, Jeff!
Last, but not least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 9-year-old Tyqwon Washington of Severn, MD was on March 26th, 2022. According to the poster, Tyqwon is likely still in town, but he may also be in Baltimore. Wherever Tyqwon is at, let’s get him home to those who love him, ASAP.
