Happy Fri-yay, everyone! This means one thing: weekend time’s upon us once again, and it’s time to discuss weekend plans. Mine are either to hit up the record shop, since the weather’s gonna be decent according to the reports, hit up the old store, or Wally World, haven’t decided which yet. I’m also gonna get working on this blog, too, haha.
The day started off on a high note, but ended otherwise for me. Today, a kid I worked w/ had a very difficult time, and things went sideways between them and some other classmates. I hope they’re all able to turn things around next week and do a total 180. I always have hope for turnarounds, since as long as you’re living, there’s no such thing as too late, imo.
Anyways, nuff about me. How bout you, readers? What’re your weekend plans? I’d love to hear all about it, whether good, bad, both, or neither, so drop it all like it’s hawt and let’s get this party started!
To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.
I’d love to try this enchilada bean dip sometime!
I’d also love to try this vodka sauce recipe too. I made these apple, cheddar, and Maille mustard grilled sandwiches for my lunches, and I found they were still good the next day when I actually had lunch.
Sad news to report in the world of Law and Order SVU: Richard Belzer died. I loved seeing him on SVU w/ Ice-T since the beginning, when I was in middle school. Rest in peace, Detective Munch!
OMG, this is so scary! My heart goes out to the kid’s family. Something like this happened to me years back, but I noticed it before I swallowed it or tried to. I haven’t eaten at the restaurant it happened at since then, and I got no plans to ever eat there again. Point being, readers: never use those wire grill brushes, ever. There’s wood scrapers and several different variations of em. I got the Charcoal Companion version, and I love it. Idk how those janky wire grill brushes are even still on the market anyways.
A certain someone I won’t name here cuz I don’t wanna sully this blog w/ any more mention of him than I have to has just been sentenced to additional years in jail after the Los Angeles trial. Have fun in the slammer, you sexually abusive motherfucker!
I hope the Ramsey family gets the answers they’ve been long overdue for, and I hope JonBenet’s killer is found sooner than we all think.
Some woefully underrated Black-led TV shows. I loved Keenan and Kel as a kid, and I remember In Living Color airing on network TV. I lived for My Wife and Kids and the Bernie Mac Show back in high school. Malcolm and Eddie is on the Black Throwbacks channel on Pluto TV, btw!
What a great list of books! I’d love to visit BEM Books someday.
