Hey, everyone! It’s been awhile since I last posted one of these, and actually went through w/ the go-live here, but weekend time’s upon us once again, and a long weekend at that. That means it’s time to talk long weekend plans. For me, I’ll be at my other job at least once during the weekend, which is fine by me. The weather in my neck of the woods will probably suck to no end, so I may as well go over to my other job.

I had considered doing the turkey trot, but again, the weather report isn’t looking good for that day. Besides, I already walk what amounts to a turkey trot anyways, so why pay money for something I can do on my own time, and do it for free?

If the weather’s decent enough to be outside for any stretch of time, I’ll probably just go knocking around the neighborhood, and take advantage of the decent weather while it lasts. We’re due for something major w/ the weather according to the forecast, and I’m not taking chances.

I know for sure I’ll be watching the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade that’s been advertised on Pluto TV, and I can always catch the replay of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade at a later point in time.

I got done w/ my other job, and had realized halfway through the day that I’d left my flashlight at home. I carry it w/ me at night so it’s easier for me to see as I go inside. As I came around to the back door, I came face-to-face w/ what I thought was a cat. The face was pointy, like my other late girl cat’s was. It took a minute to register w/ me that this was no cat. It was a possum, and he hauled ass toward the bushes that separate the neighbor’s yard from mine.

Yikes, that was creepy AF.

Anyways, ’nuff about me. How bout you, readers? What’re your long weekend plans? Good, bad, both, neither, I’d still love to hear all about it. Drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get this party started!

To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have ya.

I’d love to try these cinnamon rolls sometime.

I’d also love to try this chicken pilau recipe too. It looks like I’m missing a few things on the ingredient list already, but what I’m missing is pretty easy to come by.

Now that the holiday season’s about to start, I think I’d like to try making the stuff in this post, since I’ve got so many fabric scraps I’m tired of looking at.

Teabloom is having their Black Friday 30% off sale. This is the sponsored link I was talking about, but you can use code BLACK2025 only on Friday for your old favorites (or new favorites) for some nice hot tea during the cold months ahead. I’ve talked about their White Pear Ginger tea before, which I love to bits!

I heard a rumor that the Old Farmer’s Almanac was ending its run. Turns out this isn’t true, and I’m so happy to hear this. I remember seeing a copy of the Old Farmer’s Almanac knocking around the house as a kid, and I’d read it after I got done re-reading my Baby Sitters Club and Baby Sitters Little Sister books.

I signed the petition to end plea deals for those who harm children. This is why a guy in Oklahoma, who committed heinous crimes against two girls who went to his school has basically gotten away w/ what he did, after he took a plea deal. This tells survivors that their stories and their experiences don’t matter, and it centers the perpetrators. Fuck no. Fellow survivors, I see you, and I care.

Last, but never least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sightings of 15-year-old Rachelle Fischer and her 13-year-old brother Allen Fischer of Monteview, ID was on June 22nd, 2025. The poster states that it’s unclear how they’re traveling, but that they may be in the company of adult siblings going to a FDLS group in Mendon. Allen had on a blue shirt and blue jeans. Rachelle had on a green dress. Authorities issued an AMBER Alert, which is still active for the siblings.

It’s sad to get into, but the odds of a child returning home diminish the longer they’re missing. However, it’s important to remember that this is the overall trend, and that there’s always outliers. There’s always hope. This is why I’m highlighting a long-term missing case, and today’s is Sir-Kristopher Clayton Marshall of Los Angeles, CA. The last confirmed sighting of Sir-Kristopher was on July 20th, 1977. According to this post, Sir-Kristopher, also known as “Turkey Legs” was spending the night at the home of a family friend and her daughters Yolanda, Ivy, and Violet. Yolanda, Violet, and Ivy’s mom Earlene was home that night w/ them and their guest Sir-Kristopher. Yolanda’s father James and her mom were separated at the time of the kids’ disappearances, due to the pending charges and the nature of those crimes. There was a fire at the Williams/Matory house on the night of July 20th, and authorities found Earlene’s remains inside. There was a sighting of Sir-Kristopher, Ivy, Violet, and Yolanda the next day w/ James early in the morning at a Denny’s. According to the Doe Network, Sir-Kristopher had on a pair of brown jeans, a red and white striped shirt, blue sneakers, and a brown belt. Sir-Kristopher also had scar tissue on his feet and ankles, a 4-inch scar on his back, and a scar on his right eyebrow. The NCMEC poster has an age-progressed photo to show what he may look like at 37. However, this year, he turns 52. Yolanda turns 56, and Violet turns 58. Ivy’s remains were recovered in 2014, but not formally identified until 2019.

If anyone out there has any knowledge of the whereabouts of Violet, Yolanda, and Sir-Kristopher after July 20th, 1977, or of Allen and Rachelle after June 22nd, 2025, make that call. Their families deserve answers, so let’s see what we can do to get these kids home safe to those who love em, pronto!
