Happy Lunar New Year 2022!

It’s hard to believe one month is behind us already, but there it is. It’s February, and that means it’s Lunar New Year 2022. It’s also referred to as Chinese New Year 2022, but I feel like more and more people are shifting away from that nomenclature toward something more inclusive and less “other-y,” if that makes sense to anyone.

We’ve already celebrated the new year according to the Gregorian calendar. According to this site, the Lunar New Year is based on the phases of the moon. This means, the official Lunar New Year can change each year, from mid-January to late-February.

This year is the Year of the Tiger. (Fun fact: yours truly was born on a Year of the Tiger. If you don’t know what lunar year you were born in, this will help.)

To those of you who celebrate Lunar New Year, I hope the Year of the Tiger is a good ‘un for you and everyone else in your life.
