Kevin Another week behind us, and one more week closer to spring. I can say for sure I’m so over winter. We’re due for some insanely cold weather with highs in the single digits, so I’m gonna lay low for the weekend, work more on this blog, and knock out stuff for my day job. Things are starting to pick back up for me as far as that goes, so I’ll take it as a win. I’m also hoping to try making a clone of a vintage Paddington Bear nightgown I got from this flannel on sale at the craft store. I love that thing to pieces, but this time of year calls for something a little less lightweight. It’ll probably end up being shorter since there isn’t as much material in the yardage as I thought there’d be.

ICYMI, this week is also Identity Theft Awareness Week. Due to the pandemic, there’s been a surge in reported cases of identity theft. A family member of mine had a close call, and so did I. It was the worst feeling, and while we acted quick enough so there were no losses, it was still upsetting all the same. My heart goes out to any of you readers if this happened to you. Idk about you, but I love the brand she’s got goin’ on, and the dedication to it as well. BTW, she seems like such a lovely person. I wonder how she’s holding up these days.
Great piece about a Holocaust survivor who relocated to the U.S. and went on to become a Hollywood business owner, hairdresser, and cosmetologist. I love how he went on to make himself into something the people who did this to him and the Powers that Be who condoned it could never claim to be. Like someone in the comments said, success is the greatest revenge. I agree with this for sure, and I think it’s gonna become a motto for me.

Who here was a fan of the American Girl books as a kid? I definitely was, and for Black History Month, they’re making their books about Addy, Gabriella, Melody, and Cecile and Marie-Grace free to read. There’s also a book about Rosa Parks and Misty Copeland, too. I loved the Addy books as a kid, and the Samantha books also. Anyway, I couldn’t put No Ordinary Sound down.
