A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

Happy Fri-yay, everyone! We’ve come to the end of the first week of fall here in the Northern Hemisphere, and we all know what that means: weekend time’s upon us once again. That means one thing: it’s time to talk weekend plans. Mine will go one of two ways, depending on how I’m feeling, since I’m not feeling so great atm, and it’s also a certain time of the month on top of it. I may stick to some old stomping grounds and get some steps in, or I may hit up JoAnn for some stuff I saw and was thinking about for a while. I got a dress from Nordstrom 6 years ago, when I was losing the weight, and I finally found a fabric nearly identical to it, so I wanna try and make a copy of it. This way, I got it in other colors besides that one, and when one smells like butt, I got another one for the fall season to rotate among.

I’ve seen those TikToks where they try to frame shopping as “girl therapy,” so I’m trying to be a more conscious consumer. True, for me, shopping is kinda “girl therapy,” but it’s mainly window-shopping IRL and on the ‘netz. I feel like if I forget about something after it’s been in my cart forever online, or if it’s on sale and it’s no longer in store, then it wasn’t meant to be. If I feel a burning desire to have it down the road, I’ll get it secondhand.

It’s the first weekend of the fall season, and it’s also the end of the season for a local shop I’d like to swing by and get something from, if for no other reason than to try and dupe it on my own time, haha. Beyond that, I’m gonna get some long-overdue cleaning off the to-do list, and get this shyt done and over w/.

But anyways, nuff about me. How bout you, readers? What’re your weekend plans? Good, bad, both, neither, I’d still love to hear all about it, so drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get the party started!

To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.

5 ways to top a hot dog from Williams Sonoma. I feel like meal-prepping some hot dogs, and making it a week of breakfasts w/ these.

Not a sponsored link, but I also found some recipes by Stanley Tucci as part of his collaboration on some cookware w/ Williams Sonoma. I think I know what I’ll be doing w/ the potatoes I’ve got in my strainer in the sink for meal-prepping, haha. BTW, I feel like Stanley Tucci would be a ball to cook something w/ sometime.

I found some Hot Mustard Doritos at the store in my neighborhood, and I love em. They remind me of that Chinese hot mustard. I’ve never tried the ketchup version, but then again, I hate the stuff.

Speaking of Chinese hot mustard, this recipe for it has been in my fridge off and on for years.

I love this post about an influencer’s grandma, who was a model in the 1970s, and I love the photo shoot he did for her, too!

A post about compostable bags and drink cups, and how much so they actually are. So basically, the compostable stuff isn’t ideal, but it’s the lesser of two evils.

In other news, we lost Maggie Smith today. She was Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden, Professor McGonagall, and Violet Crawley. Job well done, Dame Maggie. Rest in peace!

Last but never least, a signal boost for a missing child, or 2 of them for that matter this time. The last confirmed sighting of 17-year-old Gabyana Mi’Ashlee Robertson and 17-year-old Madison Marie Racey of Hampton, VA was on September 27th, 2024. Both girls were last seen wearing jammies. Gabyana has a nose ring, needs meds, and may be in need of medical help. She has scars on her arms. They may be traveling together.

Even though it’s a sad truth to talk about, the odds of a child returning home diminish the longer a child remains missing. However, it’s important to remember that this is just the general trend, and that there are always outliers. There’s always hope. This is why I’m highlighting a long-term missing case, and this time, the last confirmed sighting of Vijaykumar Parbubhai “Victor” Patel of Aurora, MO was on March 1st, 1985. He also went by Vijay, but Victor was the English name he used as well. Victor was 18 at the time of his disappearance, but he was a couple months away from his high school graduation. The Doe Network states that he was last seen going to his job at the family restaurant, where he worked from noon until 7pm. His family moved to the area in 1981, when he was 14, probably either in 8th grade or 9th grade at the time. They managed the Sands Motel, and this was an area he knew like the back of his hand at the time of his disappearance. He had on a white t-shirt and blue jeans, cowboy boots, and he was in an older model green Pontiac w/ license plates NGZ 336. He is listed as Endangered Missing on the Doe Network page, and has no fingerprints, dental records, or DNA on file. It also mentions that he wasn’t yet a US citizen at the time of his disappearance, and that he also didn’t take his passport w/ him. The NCMEC has an age-progressed photo to show what Victor may look like today. This year, he turns 57 years old. If anyone out there has any knowledge of Madison and Gabyana’s whereabouts after they were reported missing, or if you know of Victor’s whereabouts after March 1985, make that call. Let’s get these kids home safe to those who love em, pronto!
