It’s holiday time, and that means a long weekend. Or for me, a long helliday weekend. Anyways, my weekend plans involve serving out my job search life sentence bestowed upon me this time a year ago. That, working on this blog, and my e-book. Starting later this weekend, and going into next week, I’ll be busy pet-sitting for someone in the neighborhood who’s going out of town. It’ll hopefully be at least a somewhat brief respite from the endless turmoil this year’s caused for me.
I’ve got the Pluto TV app turned to the Rainbow Squad channel, and My Little Pony Original Series is the background noise. I had no idea that show even existed until now, haha. Guess I just showed my age there, huh?
Enough about me. How ’bout you, readers? Got any weekend plans or holiday plans? I hope they’re far better than mine, that’s for sure! On the other hand, if this is what your weekend looks like, then I want you to know you’re not alone. We’re in this together, and I care about you.
Either way, drop your plans like they’re hot below in the comments, and let’s get this party started.
To ring in the weekend, I’ve got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.
I wonder if canned peaches would work for this peach lassi recipe. Guess I’ll find out, and report back on that.
This recipe for kung pao cauliflower looks like a lotta fun to make.
Love this post about sensing the holidays. It seriously cheered me up.
The new year’s coming up, and I love this post about New Year’s resolutions. I should really get started on a post about this for you readers, too.
What a lovely way to support our healthcare workers on the front lines in this pandemic. My mom would’ve been one of them, but a couple of years before her health took a turn for the worse and before the pandemic, I got her an MDF Instruments stethoscope in white and rose gold. It’s hanging up on her bedroom wall as part of a nurse theme I came up with when we moved.
I’m in the process of decluttering myself, and this post is a great way to get started if you’re in the same boat too.
Rissi Palmer’s on the cover of the latest issue of Guitar Girl. Love it! BTW, I got a copy of Rissi’s first album back in college, and I still have it.
This guy lost 80 pounds after an upsetting experience at the doctor, who told him to start walking. He was all like, screw that! I’m going for broke, and I’m gonna run. And he did. I’ve been there myself when I was at my estimated highest weight, so I get it.
A puppeteer, enrolled with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Nation, grew up watching the Muppets on TV, and he came up with the idea for a radio show about Nanaboozhoo and Natasha, teaching the Ojibwe language. I feel like that would make for a really fun kids’ show on PBS, like Molly of Denali. Anyways, I’m totally here for it!
Last, but not least, two signal boosts for missing children: The last confirmed sighting of 3-year-old Lina Sardar Khil of San Antonio, TX was on December 20th, 2021. There is an active AMBER Alert, and local law enforcement agency representatives say that she is in immediate danger. If you have any information regarding her whereabouts since then, make that call.
The last confirmed sightings of 9-year-old Lucas, 8-year-old Ariana, and 11-year-old Jonathan Wright of Hondo, TX, was on December 20th, 2021. Authorities say that the family’s car broke down on their trip, and their dad took the three younger kids. He has multiple warrants out of North Carolina involving abuse against children. There is an active AMBER Alert, since law enforcement agency representatives say that Lucas, Ariana, and Jonathan are in immediate danger. If you have any information regarding their whereabouts since then, make that call. I know it’s super-short notice, but let’s get Lina, Lucas, Ariana, and Jonathan home safe to their loved ones before Christmas.
