The Weekend Docket

A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

Hey, what’s good, everyone. It’s Friday, bay-bee, and we all know what that means: weekend time! It’s been a busy week for me, with pet-sitting taking up an extra day due to unexpected circumstances beyond anyone’s control, really, and with the job search life sentence. I won’t get into it too much, but I will say that I hope my life sentence is commuted soon. I’m so sick of this, and if this is as good as it’s ever gonna get for me, then it ain’t worth living anymore.

My plans this weekend are the life sentence, maybe hitting up Tarjay or Wally World, haven’t decided which one, or possibly the Asian market. I was so exhausted from pet-sitting this week that as soon as I got home yesterday, I stayed in ever since. I had plans to go to Tarjay today, but it rained all day, and it was a cold rain on top of it. If I do go, it’ll likely be tomorrow. I know I’ll probably do some meal-prepping, and also get some more stuff boxed up to drop off at a thrift store.

‘Nuff about me, how ’bout you? What are your weekend plans? Wait a sec, lemme guess. You’re going to Santorini. Yes, that’s it. You’re gonna go to Santorini, and you’re gonna have the time of your life. What’s that? You’re not? Bummer! I’d still love to hear all about it, so drop it all like it’s hot in the comments below, and let’s get the party started.

To ring in the weekend, I’ve got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.

Found this recipe for hamantaschen I’d love to try sometime. I may be a day late and a dollar short for Purim, but whatevs.

Same with this recipe for corn cheese.

I used to use Spotify, but that was years ago, and I fizzled out of it. Haven’t looked back since then, and now I’ve got even less of a reason to bother with it again going forward.

For those of you not in the know, applied behavior analysis is where the goal is to get someone who’s neurodivergent to pass as neurotypical. Yeah, there’s a ton of implications in that, and none of ’em are good. This piece from Indian Country Today talks about how abusive it is toward Native kids.

Love this post about a lady who built computer labs in Kenya after getting a scholarship to study abroad here in the U.S. So here for it!

I don’t own a weighted blanket, and have no plans to change that. Hate the damn things, but anyway, here’s how to wash ’em if you have one.

And a piece on how to wash pillows. Mine are starting to smell a bit stale.

Speaking of laundry, what’s your approach to it? I used to throw everything in there, regardless of what it actually was. No siree, Bob, those days are over.

Bedroom styles through the decades. That 70s floral print reminds me of a pair of boots I’ve got. The ones I originally wanted didn’t come in my size, so those were it. (so what else is new, haha.)

Last but not least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 13-year-old Richard Palmer of Houston, TX was on February 10th, 2022. If you see a child matching his description, make that call. Let’s get him home safe to the people who care about him.
