The Weekend Docket

A decorative image that says "The Mission Within Weekend Docket."

It’s hard to believe it’s Friday already, and that can only mean one thing: weekend time’s upon us once again. Time to talk weekend plans. Mine are to go hit up the mall and do some window shopping, and to get some steps in. I’ve been considering going back to the gym, but then again, my neighborhood’s been my gym since we were in the lockdown 3 years ago. Depending on what the weather’s doing, I may go over to this park, or I may knock around the neighborhood instead.

One thing’s for sure, there’s this thing I wanna go have a closer look at before I add it to my cart at this one place. I like to use the carts as shopping lists, and then mull it over for a bit.

If the weather holds out, I’ll also get some more leaves in the yard clippings bin, and see how much I can cram into it as well. I thought about going to a mall I used to go to, and the area I’d walk around before all this happened, but idk. We’ll see.

Anyways, ’nuff about me. How bout you readers? What’re your weekend plans? Drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get this party started!

To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.

What to do w/ all that leftover turkey. Before my mom died, and before the pandemic and her illness forced her into retirement, I made the turkey she brought home from work, and it was dinner for a month. I may get a turkey roast at some point this weekend for old time’s sake, and make it w/ the spices and the mayo to get that brown color.

Never would’ve occurred to me to try Hennessy in mashed potatoes, since I don’t drink, but Snoop Dogg may be onto something here! I’m gonna have to hunt for one of those small bottles so I can try these sometime and report back.

Fake designer stuff has been something on my radar since college, when I used to lurk on designer fashion forums. I never signed up, but I always loved seeing what was going on there. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the southern district of NY has seized over 1B worth of fake designer stuff. This stuff isn’t just piss-poor quality thanks to the child labor used to make it, the proceeds from it fund terrorism, organized crime, and rogue governments. Do like me, save up, and buy authentic.

As a heads-up, this link talks about abuse and exploitation. A group of World Health Organization employees made the sick choice to use their power and status to abuse vulnerable locals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I’m so sorry this happened to the victims, and I hope the World Health Organization does the right thing and fires the doers’ asses but good.

As another heads-up, this link talks about murder, and shows a postmortem pic. An unidentified girl currently known as Calumet City Jane Doe was found on Easter Sunday in 1981 on a path in a wooded area. The post talks about how the Doe Network has her listed as “unrecognizable,” yet she was found w/in a day after her death, and the postmortem pic is clearly recognizable. Since nobody came forward, she may have been from either out of town, or out of state, and nobody reported her missing. Someone out there knows who Calumet City Jane Doe is, or has a fair idea as to who she is. Could that be you? Make that call, and let’s get her surviving relatives some answers and closure .

Last, but not least, a signal boost for a missing child. There’s an active AMBER Alert for 10-year-old Ian Aguilar of Wilmer, TX. The last confirmed sighting of him was November 14th, 2023. The authorities state that Ian is in immediate danger. The authorities have found the vehicle utilized, but so far, Ian and his abductor haven’t been found yet. If anyone out there has any knowledge as to Ian’s whereabouts after November 14th, make that call.

Also, the AMBER Alert for Keshaun Williams is still ongoing. Let’s get both Ian and Keshaun home safe to those who care about em, just in time for the remainder of the holiday season.
