Happy Fri-yay, and also Happy New Month, everyone! I can’t believe we’re at the start of a new month, already, but here we are. It’s Fri-yay, and that means weekend time’s upon us once again. Time to talk weekend plans. My weekend plans will probably be a trip to the mall, since I hear the weather’s gonna suck the whole time. If not, then I’d love to go to a haunted house, and maybe also check out a couple other Halloween events going on too.
It’s too cold to justify my Playboy bunny costume, which is starting to fit again. That’s a good sign, and it’ll be a different story soon. I’ve also got some stuff re-made that I had a horrible time w/ around this time a year ago, and I’m glad I decided to revisit it. Now that I know why my mom’s old sewing machine had a case of the perma-thread jam, I can move forward w/ the rest of it. I got some stuff that’s been living here long enough. Time to use it up.
In other news, we’re coming down to the wire w/ the elections in just a few short days. I don’t talk politics on here, but I encourage y’all to go vote if you haven’t already done so. I cast my absentee ballot last weekend, so that’s outta the way.
On that note, happy belated Halloween to everyone, and to those who celebrate it, have a meaningful Dia de los Muertos!
Anyways, nuff about me. How bout you, readers? What’re your weekend plans? Good, bad, both, neither, I’d still love to hear all about it. Drop it all like it’s hawt, and let’s get this party started!
To ring in the weekend, I got us some links to talk about, share, what have you.
I’ve made this Dunkaroo dip/cake dip so many times in the past. Also found another variation that tells us how much of the yogurt to use, if you’re like me and don’t yet have a kitchen scale.
I think I’m gonna try making cookies in my air fryer at some point. I came across this recipe for cookies, along w/ this one. I may also have to try the buried treasure cookies I made a couple years back, and see how they hold up in the air fryer. I’m not counting on the results being anything but a dumpster fire, but we’ll see.
Old news is old, but this take on hot chocolate would be great any time of the year, imo. Here’s his website, too!
[Note, the following link contains mention of CSAM.] This post about a (now former) cop who got busted for abuse imagery talks about how he’s hopefully looking at prison for the rest of his life. Good riddance, and the sooner the better. Get this, he had the guts enough to wear a shirt that says DILF. DILF?! Yeah, you fuckin wish.
Show of hands, who’s a fan of the American Girls books? I am, and for years, I’ve been on the hunt for a hand muff like Samantha had. There was a human-sized one, but it was so far outta my price range as a kid, and it’s been discontinued since the Y2K panic was a thing. Came across a pattern for a similar style, and also this one, either of which I’d love to make.
I’ve got a pair of yellow fake-fur earmuffs I picked up from Target on the night of Black Friday when they were opening at midnight about 6 years ago. ‘Member that? Pepperidge Farm remembers. I’m not looking forward to the day those bite the dust, but I came across a tutorial on how to make your own version. Maybe this time, I can make em in green like I wanted 6 years ago, haha!
Last, but never least, a signal boost for a missing child. The last confirmed sighting of 12-year-old Belki E. Santamaria Armijo of Antioch, CA was on August 16th, 2024. No other info is listed in the poster.
Even though it’s a sad statistic to mention, the odds of a child returning home diminish the longer they remain missing. However, it’s important to remember that there are always outliers, and that there’s always hope. This is why I’m highlighting a long-term missing case, and this one is Jeanine Camille Barnwell of Philadelphia, PA. The last confirmed sighting of Jeanine was on November 15th, 1985, and she was 3 years old. Very little information is either known, or made available to us members of the general public. The consensus is that Jeanine disappeared during the day, which means she could’ve been any number of places. She could’ve been at school, at the park, the store, or close to where she and her family lived at the time. The last one who saw her was her mother, but I should mention that her mom had no involvement in her disappearance. Authorities suspect that this was a non-family abduction, w/ foul play. The NCMEC poster includes an age-progressed photo to show what she may look like at 32 years old as of 2014, but I’d guess that she wouldn’t look much (if any) different today. This year, she turns 43.
If anyone has any knowledge as to the whereabouts of Belki after August 2024, or of Jeanine after November 1985, make that call. Let’s see what we can do to get their families the answers they deserve, and better yet, get em both home safe to those who love em, pronto!
