It’s hard to believe we’re coming to the end of the week, but here we are. Somehow this month is going by so fast, and so slow at the same time.
My weekend plans are to get ahead with the work I was able to get at my day job, and have it out to them sooner instead of later. I’m also going to be doing some long-overdue cleaning, finish up something I started a couple weeks ago, and if the weather permits it, I hope to go on a late night walk for old time’s sake.
What are you gonna do, or hope to do this weekend? Drop it like it’s hot below, and in the meantime, let’s ring in the weekend with some fun or thought-provoking links to share with others and talk about too.
Charley Pride died last weekend. He died of COVID, and the saddest part of all is that this was completely preventable. It never had to be like this. Rissi Palmer said it best on Facebook, wear a damn mask. I’ll add that if you’re unable to wear a mask, then do the next best thing and wear a damn face shield. This stuff’s serious business, no matter what the deniers or the naysayers try to tell us otherwise. I want you readers healthy, and I know you want that for your loved ones too. [EDIT 12-2-2021: The original link no longer exists. However, here’s the link to his website instead.]
Did any of you have pen pals as a kid, where your class would write letters to another class in another state? I did, and this quarantine pen pal project is a neat take on the whole concept.
This article about an old BBC series on Victorian gardening is so fascinating. I’d love to see the series sometime.
I love stories like this where multiple family members graduate from school together. It’s living proof that it’s never too late to go back to school or go to school for the first time. So what if it’s not on the typical time table that society dictates? It took me longer to graduate from college, 8 years, but I did.
Interesting article about when a cheese goes extinct for all you cheese fans out there like yours truly.
